Next week is FINALS! It's crazy how people say "College just FLIES by, it goes so fast!!" and it's actually so incredibly true. I've nearly finished my first year of college and I am just wondering where all the time went!! It's truly been amazing, sleepless, wonderful, and I have learned so much about myself (and the subjects I'm studying of course). I'm a history/education major and I'm planning on possibly picking up an art minor as well and I've learned too that education students are this rare breed of human that runs on approximately three hours of sleep a night. It's been a crazy couple of semesters but I wouldn't trade them for a thing! But anyways, I'm feeling a little stressed with finals around the corner and my whole life and liscensure as a teacher depends on how well I pass these tests and AHHHH! Thus, let's waste a little more time here is my life in a ridiculous slew of pictures up until the present moment (part two!)
When I'm stressed I want to art sooo bad! I've turned to drawing ALL over my notebook in art history and it has escalated really bad since my last journal entry...this is what my art history notes have come to look like, resulting in me literally never lifting my eyes to look at the board:
Also OH MY GOSH is the weather here bizarre! This weekend it was snowing. It was April 21st. And snowing like the Arctic. I'll just let that sink in for a moment. We also had this super weird flash freeze that made for the most gorgeous pictures and made actually no sense at all because the campus looked like it was covered in glass but also there was chunks of hail the size of marbles and whole halves of trees down. I was truthfully terrified to walk through the forest to get to class because there were these scary glass- shattering noises every few steps and tons of ice would just rain down....at least I can check "near death experience" off my bucket list!
Also wind. That's a big thing here too.
My roommate is from China and the other day she actually asked me "What is Spring?" I felt so bad that my response was literally, "Sorry, I've lived here for eighteen years and I don't even know."
Also one of the clubs I'm a part of on campus paid for a trip to go see THE LION KING OH MY GOSH NOT KIDDING. I cried the whole time and met Sarabi, Zazu and Pumbaa and it was so beautiful all I can say was "It was so beautiful I don't even know what else to say." I've been listening to this on repeat and singing super loud and then freaking out because I keep forgetting that it is warm enough out (besides the snow) to have our windows open and the whole campus likely can hear me belting out Shadowland because that is not a song to quietly sing along with. www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUY8Px…
Also I've realized my art is directly related to what I've been obsessing over lately. Therefore, as soon as summer starts, it can be expected that a Wreck-it-Ralph and Lion King sculpture will be on it's way. Also I am hoping to get my etsy account all set up this summer so I can start to sell my sculptures! I hope it all works out
Also this gif. I've been laughing for days.

//Student Teaching //Artist//
So doing both is not easy I am realizing. But hey, we made it! The end of the semester is nearly over!
I have spent one of the most insane semesters of my life being a student and being a teacher. It was BANANAS. I loved it and know that I will love being a history teacher where ever I go, and I can not wait until I can start to blend my love for teaching with my love for art! Every few lessons or so I looked forward to doodling something related to the topic on the board, whether it be Jefferson building a new invention or, my personal favorite, Scylla and Charybdis for a World History lesson!
I have finals coming up and then I can finally
HELP!
Hello everyone! Long time no type!
I have been CRAZY working on student teaching, which leaves little time for art. If you follow me on instagram, you'll know that I am still sketching all the time, but I did not feel like these daily sketches were strong enough to be full-blown deviations. But if you are interested, check me out (@saraisafreeelf). I have also been finishing my chairs that I started last summer! WHEW!
This is my last semester as an undergrad EVER. Just a few months of lesson planning, a 30 page paper, and my state boards project stand in between me and the real life of an actual adult. That is four hundred percent terrifyin
Taking Some Time to Give Thanks
I have been typing non-stop for an entire semester about history and education and art history. Hopefully that fosters some intense hand strength for a sculpting spree when I come back home for Christmas break!
Senior year is proving to be certainly interesting. I am trying to stop going into everything with the mindset of “This is my last time doing this!” Because whooo boy that can put a damper on things. But going into Thanksgiving time, I am struck by how incredibly thankful I am for this education. I have been blessed enough to go to this little school for three and a half years now, and as I get ready to enter my semester o

How long have you been on DeviantArt?
I have been a member since May 19, 2011. My closest friend, who loves drawing, kept telling me to upload my sculptures online and I finally did it!
What does your username mean?
It was originally SaraRoseey, which is just my first name and my middle name. I have since changed it to SkipperSara, which is my first name and my favorite ride at Disney World, the Jungle Cruise, blended together. In high school I finally went on that ride and LOVED the skippers and started saying that I was going to be a skipper someday too!
